Hailing from Cardiff, three-piece rock band Feverjaw have been making waves in the South Wales music scene since forming in 2019. Focusing on writing new music during the pandemic, the group has been releasing singles, including the latest one “Midsommar”, in advance of their upcoming EP Casual Abrasive (coming April 1st).
And “Midsommar” bristles with that juxtaposition – the vocals have a casual air, even has the crunchy riffs and drums thunder in with a caustic, rough sound. Like ice moving over sandpaper, the group utilizes melodic harmonies, but pushes them towards darker territories that are emboldened by the distorted chords and tight arrangement.
