New Music Friday: January 13, 2022

If last week was punk week, this is definitely indie rock week, cause we’re getting a surprise new album from Scottish indie darlings Belle and Sebastian! Put that with the new album from Wildes (read our review of it here) and the debut full-length from Lincoln, and you got some good indie music to hear. If you still need some punk, you can listen to the new EP from Unarmed.

Other indie favorites out with new songs today are The New Pornographers (newly signed to Merge Records), Young Fathers, The Go! Team, Daughter and Spoon, with a David Bowie cover in honor of the late artist’s birthday. Paramore have the third song from their highly anticipated album out, and Green Day have released an early Elvis Costello cover demo. Speaking of demos, the legendary Neutral Milk Hotel have released a demo of a previously unreleased song, The Pino Farina Band are back with a new one, as are poptropicaslutz!.

M83 is returning to form with his new single, and Public Image Ltd are competing for Eurovision with their new track. Other returning artists include Måneskin, DWLLRS, Frances Luke Accord, Darren Jesse, Black Thought, One Step Closer, Divided Heaven, M. Byrd and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.

Some artists getting their first spins on our playlist this week are Villages, Raegan Sealy, Elliott Blaufuss, Drayton Farley, The No Ones, Complete Mountain Almanac, Sun Room, Your Angel, Ethan Setiawan, The Pomps, The Gleeman, Nanna, Paige Su and Groundstate.
