New Music Friday: March 10, 2023

Are you all ready for a music-filled weekend?

If you’re here in Los Angeles, you could be going to see Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks at SoFi Stadium. I unfortunately can’t make that one, but will be in the pit seeing Jawbreaker and AFI at the Forum on Saturday. As for what will be streamed this weekend, here’s what’s rocking our New Music Friday.

Up-and-Coming pop-punk group Meet Me @ The Altar have their first album since signing to Fueled by Ramen. These ladies have been making waves, so don’t sleep on them. If you want some older-school screamo, Story of the Year are back with their new album. For those wanting something more mellow, the soul/country/gospel duo The War and Treaty have their latest album for us. And then there’s a new EP from indie-em-rock darlings Manchester Orchestra.

With the announcement of North American tour dates (I got my ticket for his LA show), Peter Gabriel has dropped the third single from his new album. The Pink Spiders, a truly underrated group, have signed to Pure Noise Records and dropped a new single in the process. I am the Avalanche (who recently rocked the Belasco), surprise-released a new single, and McKinley Dixon‘s latest (also dropped with a new album announcement) is one of his best in years. Classic punks The Damned have a new jam, as to 90’s Sunset strip rockers Buckcherry. And the new Rival Sons is quite a banger.

There’s some more great indie music from The New Pornographers, The Antlers and The Tallest Man on Earth, and more pop-punk goodness from Near Beer, girlfriends and Hot Mulligan. Other familiar names gracing us this week are Brewster, Pete Francis, Spanish Love Songs, Circle the Earth, Güero, Mighty Poplar, dragonchild, Rival Sons, Tame Impala, Waterparks and AJJ.

Making their debuts on our playlist this week are Lonnie Holley, The Xcerts, Tribe Friday, Salpa, The Carolyn, Nikki White, Maris, Codefendants, James Heresy, Peter Raffoul, Cape Crush, Last Second Save, Your Broken Hero, [mila], Joe Normal, Brutal Youth and Speelburg.

Listen to all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
