New Music Friday: August 4, 2023

It’s a simmering first New Music Friday of August for more reasons than just the heat. We’ve got new rock albums out this week from veterans like The Maine (who just put on a great performance at Sad Summer Fest) and Rick Springfield, and up-and-comers Mammoth VWH and Teenage Wrist.

The Minnesota queen Dessa dropped two new tracks from her album coming out next month, and the Swedish rock kings The Hives released two new barnburners. Ryan Bingham, Hiss Golden Messenger and Wilco‘s new tracks are excellence in the Americana/folk rock genre, while Semisonic and Hurry‘s are wonderful power pop.

Ava Earl has a second track make our list, while alt rockers Iglu & Hartley spin out their best new track yet from their next album. We’re also going to keep filling your ears with the goodness of bands like Spanish Love Songs, The Glorious Sons, Bearings, Sincere Engineer, LP, Poolside, The Linda Lindas, Peter Gabriel, The Conscience Pilate, Emmrose, Sheer Mag, Para Lia, Robert Finley, Skizzy Mars, Mercy Union, Band-Maid, World’s First Cinema, Augustana and Trevor Hall.

New blood on the list this week includes Joey Sachi, Raylee Forest, Drop Nineteens, Hannah Georgas, MC Hammersmith, Lily & Madeleine, Tremendous, Jon Check, Values Here, Hello June, Mom Rock, Off Lights, Coby Sultan, Christina Martin and Burr Island.

You’re here, so ya might as well keep going by following our New Music Friday Playlist and listening to all this cool music. The artists will certainly appreciate it!
