The heat continues. The strike continues. And the music keeps coming.
Sweden’s The Hives never do anything halfway, so you better believe their new album is a full-blown rock n’ roll opus. I spoke to the great Andy Frasco last month, and today we have his wonderful new album out. Australia’s G Flip is a drummer and pop-songwriter extraordinaire, who you should become familiar with, and if you aren’t a fan already of Ryan Bingham‘s Oscar-winning brand of Americana, you will be after hearing his new album. Sundressed are writers of emo-greatness, and Brooks Dixon certainly impressed our writer Kenny (read his review here). Then we get a new EP from underground rockers Strawberry Fuzz, who would fit perfectly on a bill with The Hives.
After a great performance opening up for Better Than Ezra, Chaz Cardigan has released a new song he premiered at that show. Dan Andriano and the Bygones are back with a new punk jam, and former Check This artist The Muckers are back with a new rocker. Taking Meds, Angel Du$t and Neck Deep have dropped some new pop-punk bombs, while Teenage Fanclub and D.A. Stern are bringing some melodic power pop your way.
We’ve also got hot new ones from Bombino, Slowdive, Low Cut Connie, Walter Etc, MJ Lenderman, Courtney Barnett, Less Than Jake, Mustard Plug, Yam Haus, James Bay, Broadside, Cordovas, Bo Milli, Magic AI, The Dollyrots and Hillsboro. Some cool discoveries you’ll make this week on the list are Jolie Holland, Boardroom Heroes, Hell Beach, Mike Gale, Charlie Kaplan, Enny Owl, Ryterband, Pseudo Cool, Laurie Cave, CR & The Nones, Sofy, The Exbats, Jeremy Voltz, moony, Eric Hilton, Pluto Saffron and Los Discorde.
