There’s a lot to love from duo acts. The White Stripes, Twenty One Pilots, Japandroids…and now you can add Crispus Attucks and the Love Muskets to the list of great, punk-influenced duos who excel at making a big, melodic noise. Formed in 2021, the New York duo recently released their latest EP Antisocial Norms, which contains the excellent, politically-charged “No Kings/No Crimes.”
While the spirit of the track is full-on punk, there’s also an underscore of 60’s garage rock in the sound, as well as a grunge-infused ending that is full of brazen distortion. Lyrically, in true punk spirit, the track is an indictment of America’s leader and his discriminatory policies. It’s definitely the kind of anthem we could use right now.
