There is something ferocious about Brighton-based 4 piece Hot Juice‘s new single “Primitive Animals”. The raw, grungy guitars scrape the scuzz off the garage floor, while the vocals have a drunken, hip-hop flavor. When the chorus is unleashed, it sounds like a rabid version of The Cramps, biting and snapping at anyone crazy enough to get close. And that guitar solo is just insane in the best way. Lyrically, it’s up to the listener to find the meaning to them, but lines like “Enigmatic, likes to chat shit/Always in the range, but has to lash it” still stick to the subconscious.

About the track, the band has said:
“It all started waiting at the bus stop after a practice when a mate read out a facebook review where a bar manager called a group that came in ‘primitive animals’ and I was obsessed with that description of them.
As a band we’d also said we wanted to push more punk weighted on the new EP and add more dirty riff energy, the name suited a punk song so well and from there it all came together. It fits the live set and the EP so well and we’re excited to get it released!“
If you’re new to Hot Juice, the band has been making waves in the South Coast music scene. Local headliners at the Prince Albert, Hope & Ruin, Waterbear Venue, Pipeline, EST, the Brunswick and Rossi Bar, and have secured slots at the Great Escape and Weekender festivals. Their consistent UK touring has also contributed to their growing popularity. Recent single release, ‘Anxiety,’ was even featured on Channel Radio as ‘Track of the Week.’
Hot Juice is rapidly gaining attention for their most complete sound yet, delivering high energy to both their live performances and recordings. And you can hear it on “Primitive Animals”. Be the first to hear the song here!
