Check This: Pat Hatt – Outta the Fire

Artist: Pat Hatt

Song: “Outta the Fire”

Album: TBD

Label: Self-Release

Genre: Americana / Alt-Country

Last summer, I wrote about how Pat Hatt’s self-titled EP unapologetically explored an open road through Americana and alt-country backdrops reminiscent of Jason Isbell, Old 97s, and The War of Drugs. With deep roots in Pennsylvania and newer sprouts in the California desert, Hatt delivered a collection of songs reflecting many lives lived.

And that sound continues on in his latest single, “Outta the Fire,” out everywhere today. Taking his sand-dusted guitar tones previously used to address nostalgia and longing, “Outta the Fire” turns sights towards hopeful optimism within a crushing and suffocating timeline we are all living in. Taking pages from Tom Petty and Springsteen, “Outta the Fire” feels timeless and modern at the same time with lyrics that reflect Hatt’s ultimate brand: trust your heart if everything else fails. A refreshing continuation of his EP, “Outta the Fire” opens up the next chapter as Hatt looks to build on his early success under his own name.
