All-4-One‘s “I Swear” was the guilty pleasure pop song from the 90’s no one wanted to admit that they liked (but all secretly did). Released on the group’s 1994 self-titled album, most people didn’t even know the song was a cover (it was originally a country song recorded by John Michael Montgomery), but it became as pervasive as a pop song can be, spending 11 weeks on top of the Billboard charts.
And wouldn’t you know it, All-4-One are still around! In 2015, they released a new, Jackson 5-cribbing single “Baby Love” from their 20th anniversary album, Twenty+, and in 2016 joined the smash “I Love the 90’s” tour.
So if you’re in an R&B mood today, throwback to these 90’s stalwarts.
