The Parrots are an irreverent garage rock trio from Madrid, Spain who released their debut EP back in 2013. Since then, they have signed with a number of labels, and came out with their first full-length LP in 2016. Like a Spanish-speaking Black Lips, they make rock and roll that’s catchy but never too clean.
Earlier this year, “in a fit of insane madness”, they recorded a surfy cover of trap/reggaeton singer Bad Bunny‘s “Soy Peor”. The cover packs a groovier attitude and slick guitar licks that make it far better than the original in my book.
