Throwback Thursday: Lit – Lovely Day

As nice weather is returning to Los Angeles, I found the chorus to this 90’s deep cut returning front and center to my mind. Though Lit has decided to transition into country music (took me by surprise too), their debut album A Place in the Sun remains a classic collection of crunchy pop rock hooks and melodies, which I personally listened to more times than I can count.

The album spawned three big singles, but each track on the LP has something memorable about it. For “Lovely Day”, the positive vibes in the song come to full fruition with the sunny guitar solo at the bridge, which truly brings a loveliness to it. I remember playing the song on repeat while I traveled through France in 2000 – the album was the soundtrack to my trip.
