New Music Friday – June 15, 2018

This is a Friday I have long been waiting for. Two of my favorite bands from my childhood have released new albums – Arizona’s Gin Blossoms, and Boston’s Mighty Mighty Bosstones. These two LPs alone will make this an epic rock weekend.

Then there’s the full-length album from Australian group Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever (previously a Check This band). Rolling Stone gave the album 4 stars, and their single “Talking Straight” is already in contention on my Top 50 of 2018 list. Also, one of my other favorite bands, The Gaslight Anthem, have released an album of demos and unreleased cuts. So a great album day!

For new songs, we have the latest single from Seattle’s Death Cab For Cutie, which was added into rotation at KROQ this last Tuesday. Young the Giant dropped a new track, and we get another pre-release from GorillazNovo Amor have released a new single, and we will be posting a Single Sit-down interview with Novo tomorrow!

There’s also new ones from Dan Mangan (whose “Fool for Waiting” is one of my favorite songs this year), bluegrass troubadour Jackie Greene, irreverent punks NOFX, singer-songwriter William Fitzsimmons, King Princess and pop-punkers All Time Low.

Check all these and more out below.
