Artist: The Sloppy Boys
Song: Lifelong Vacation
Album: Lifelong Vacation
Genre: Party Rock, Pop Punk
Some bands were born to play frat parties. Showcasing their blatant love of alcohol and irreverent humor all over their debut album, new Los Angeles band The Sloppy Boys are looking to fill the void of groups like NOFX who embraced the grungier, party side of punk on their earlier work.
One can also hear traces of FIDLAR and the Presidents of the USA in the group, especially in the escapist title track. Coming in at a brisk 1:55, the song finds the singer dreaming of spending his life drunk in the sun and never returning to work. It’s an easily relatable daydream most of us are probably experiencing during this grueling summer.
Since most of us won’t get the luxury to actually get away from our “cellphones” or “khakis”, this song will have to do as we steal and hour by a pool to wait out the heat wave.
