Summer is winding down, and the music coming out is definitely feeling like it’s trying to prepare us for fall.
For some remaining summer fun, Third Eye Blind have released a covers album to raise money for the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. The group has chosen songs from an eclectic group of artists, from Bon Iver to Santigold to Queens of the Stone Age.
There are also a couple of straight-up new rock albums. I was never a big fan of Interpol in their heyday, but I’ve really been feeling the pre-released tracks off their latest collection Marauder, so hoping that and the new one from White Denim become strong soundtracks to the cooling days of September.
Pop punkers Fall Out Boy released a 3 song EP to keep their momentum going, and we’ve also gotten 3 songs from new indie supergroup Boygenius (composed of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus).
There are a whole mess of new singles out today you should also check out (new ones from Bedouin Soundclash, Ruston Kelly, J Mascis, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra and The Night Game are some highlights).
Check it all out below, and let us know what you’re enjoying!
