Sounding like a cross between a sixties surf rock song and Wilco‘s “Jesus, Etc.”, Rochester, NY band Anamon‘s single, “Iron Bill”, is a drifting yet addictive garage rock tune.
The melancholy air of the guitars are emotionally balanced by singer Ana Emily Monaco’s cool, guarded vocals, with lyrics that flirt with contradictions (“I hope you’re doing fine. And I’ll see you in hell.”)
While the album won’t be released for a couple more weeks, The Indy Review was allowed an early listen, and can tell you it’s a solid collection of garage-psych tunes, with the raucous “In Three” another highlight.
