New Music Friday Playlist – March 8, 2019
Happy Friday folks. As you read this, I’ll be driving up the 5 to a northern CA wedding, possibly listening to some of these new tunes on the trip.
It’s an Adult Contemporary type of weekend on the album side, with some acts with a strong history in the format (David Gray, Dido) releasing new albums, as well as throwback rock n’ roller Nick Waterhouse dropping a self-titled full of old school R&B style jams. If you’re into chill, instrumental guitar-based music, you’ll love Ryan Dugré’s new album.
In songs, indie rockers The National announced a May release date for their next album and revealed the first single (along with a teaser for a short film starring Alicia Vikander which the music will accompany). There’s a new one from folk rockers The Mountain Goats, a super-catchy new gem from power poppers Charly Bliss…oh, and two more new tracks from Vampire Weekend! And a surprise new track from The Black Keys!
Check these out and more on our New Music Friday playlist, and below.
