New Music Friday Playlist – April 5, 2019
It’s Spring 2019! To start off our April music listening, we have some romantic soul music from Lee Fields & The Expressions, and some abrasive punk from upstart band PUP. Two very different albums to soundtrack the week.
Some new single highlights for the weekend are two new tracks from Vampire Weekend (now six songs out from their upcoming double album), a new cut from The National, and one from Anderson .Paak featuring soul legend Smokey Robinson. English indie electronica group Hot Chip have broken their long silence and released a new single, and folk band The Lumineers have released the first single from their new album.
Some other songs that have us excited are new tracks from Australian pop punk singer Alex Lahey (who I plan to get tickets to see in August at The Troubadour) and Australian guitar goddess Tash Sultana, a new one from soul folk singer Joy Oladokun, the first new song from recent Bad Ass Break-Out artist Wargirl, and a new track from indie pop group Fruit Bats.
You can find all of this music and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
