New Music Friday – April 19, 2019

Hello people. Writing this from Australia at the moment, but new music waits for no one to return to their home.

The biggy this week is the latest album from Kentucky rockers Cage the Elephant, who are one of the few consistently popular rock bands in this day & age where rock has lost summer cultural luster. Also finally arriving is the debut album from British songstress Jade Bird, hot off her tour with Hozier. You should also check out the debut album from Wargirl, who we recently reviewed.

Folk songwriter The Tallest Man on Earth and Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi also have some beautiful new albums to chill to.

In songs, Beck has released a new single, co-written by Pharrell Williams. Sheryl Crow has a track with the late Johnny Cash, Skip Marley has one with Damien Marley, and there’s a massive Game of Thrones collaboration between SZA, The Weekend and Travis Scott.

There are too many other singles to go through while it’s 10pm down under, so I’ll let you discover it all for yourself. Have to skip the weekly playlist this week, so make one for yourself!
