The band Old_Sport were birthed when actor/singe Nick Vergara needed musicians to create a soundtrack to his award-winning indie film, Elsewhere, and the group continued as a working unit after that production had wrapped.
Drawing inspiration from heralded indie rock groups like Arcade Fire, Spoon, The Strokes and the legendary E Street Band, the band has been touring both coasts and recently released a video for the song “Lighting Strikes My Spine” from their 2018 The Midnight Vibeline Session.
In the visual, directed by Edward Salerno Jr, what begins as a nighttime jam in a hardware store evolves into a kaleidoscope of psychedelic imagery as Vergara’s soulful vocals soar and dip through the song’s angular riffs, moody saxophone, and rugged rhythm section.
