With so many of us stuck at home, whether working or not, it’s likely were all streaming more music than ever before. And we all have our own personal listening habits. Some of us throw on pre-made playlists that our streaming service of choice creates, or goes to an artists radio station. Others will listen to their own personally curated playlists, while others simply choose an album and stream it through.
Here at The Indy Review, we’re constantly listening to the latest tunes to discover the next great bands to share with you, but in doing so, we often lose touch with some of the music we grew up loving and forget about songs we may not have listened to in over a decade.
So today, I’m posing a challenge to myself and to all of you. Each day, find an older album, either one you haven’t listened to in ages or one you’ve never heard, and give it a listen. Yesterday, I for the first time ever listened to Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic, as it finally debuted on Spotify. Today, I’m giving a complete listen to Incubus‘ album Morning View, which I haven’t spun since 2001. Each day this week, I’m going to pick a new older album to dive into in hopes of discovering something I missed years ago, or rediscovering something great.
If you want to join me in this challenge, share with us what you’re listening to each day and what you discover!
