We’ve made it into October of one of the craziest years ever. Here’s the music taking us into the 10th month of the year.
The always reliable Dawes has their latest collection of folk-rock to settle us into Fall. The new Jonsi album and Kurt Vile EP should also fit that mood. If you’re still up for rocking out a bit, or need something to channel the aggression the world is feeding you, then we suggest spinning the debut solo record from Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor, or the surprise new solo album from Laura Jane Grace.
Some of the new singles we’re excited about are the latest from ska-punk veterans Less Than Jake, rising alternative rock group Magic Giant, and a new Gorillaz track featuring Elton John. We’ve also got some solid new Americana from Amanda Shires (feat her husband Jason Isbell) and a new one from Isbell’s old band the Drive-By Truckers.
The elusive Ani DiFranco has returned with her first new single in a long while. Good to pair with that would be the new bop from Lake Street Dive and the new banger from The Night Game.
