Hoping all of you have recovered from whatever your St. Patty’s day celebrations were. I spent mine blasting Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, and capped it off with some whiskey. Now that it’s Friday, we are going to turn down the notch just a bit with the new tunes out today.
The two albums we’re going to enjoy this weekend are the latest from indie rockers Middle Kids, and the incomparable pop phenomenon that is Lana Del Rey. Both have released some excellent early songs, so excited to hear the rest. Next we have the new EP from Michigander (read our review of it here), and a mostly-covers collaborative EP from The Knocks and Foster the People.
Some of the splashiest new singles out today are from Chicago punk rockers Rise Against and L.A. rap veterans Cypress Hill. Both would be getting major airplay a decade ago, but as the times change, you’re gonna just have to stream the hell out of them in our playlist! Some other familiar names to our list who have new songs out today are Aussie songwriter Amy Shark, indie rappers Skizzy Mars and Dessa, new Oscar-nominee Jon Batiste, retro-rockers Greta Van Fleet, jammers O.A.R., Swedish duo Flora Cash, pianist Ludovico Einaudi, folk rockers Lord Huron, and the indescribable The Go! Team.
And as always, we like to give some space to some newer acts who we think are worth your ear time, so be sure to listen to new songs from Coda Meraki, Jesse Marchant, Squid, Coma Culture, Holding Absences, Johnny Ashby, De’Wayne and Concrete Castles.
Hear all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
