If the band’s name didn’t give it away, Colour Tongues are a Canadian indie rock band out of Vancouver. Since releasing their debut EP in 2017, the band has continued to drop singles and EPs, melding indie pop and progressive rock and culminating in their own brand of memorable, melodic music.
Their latest single “Wasted” is a mellow and mesmerizing mid-tempo monster of hooks. There’s an ethereal quality to the musicianship, and the chorus pulls the best parts of modern pop production in while not hiding the solid instrumentation. The layered melodies at the end echo out in a glorious fashion that will make you want to repeat the song instantly.
