Artist: Ian Bamberger
Song: “I Know I Know Nothing”
Album: TBD
Genre: Rock n’ Roll
If you ever find yourself feeling nostalgic for the upbeat stadium rock of the 70’s…clearly New York songwriter Ian Bamberger is there with you. Inspired by a slew of internationally acclaimed artists, from Jimi Hendrix to Sublime, Bamberger began writing songs at 12, and released his first EP in 2013. Now, in advance of his next album he’s dropped his latest single, the rock n’ roll anthem “I Know I Know Nothing”.
The first thing that jumps out in the song are the soaring, Thin Lizzy-style dueling guitars. They set the track up as a pure stadium rocker, building an epic atmosphere for the song. Dealing with the uncertainty about the future (“I wouldn’t try to see my future. I took a look inside your crystal ball”), the track ultimately embraces both this unknown path forward, and letting go of the baggage you’re carrying (“It’s okay to leave some things behind, keep on moving forward”).
The harmonized backing vocals courtesy of Katherine Geithman and power drumming from Dr. Bill Grillo only help to elevate “I Know I Know Nothing” to the highest reaches of rock glory.
