New Music Friday – December 10, 2021

As we’re coming close to the end of the year, there are still a few new notable albums and songs squeaking in before things go quiet for the holidays. Here’s what’s out this week for your listening pleasure.

Folk rock legend Neil Young is back with his band Crazy Horse for a new album. While it’s been some years since I connected with a Young album, I’m willing to give this one a fair shot. Rapper Big Boi‘s latest non-Outkast album with Sleepy Brown is finally here after a number of delays. Also out is the new album from local band Joker’s Hand, who are certainly worth your attention.

On the 5th of every month (ie: the eve of the 6th), Eve 6 will be releasing a new song and we got the first one earliest this week. Expect to hear a lot of them in 2022! Cobra Starship have dropped the second (and last) of their unreleased songs, and Superchunk are back from a 4 year break with new music. Leon Bridges and Khruangbin are teaming again for another new EP, and have dropped the first song from it.

Happy to have another new song from Our Lady Peace (who played a great show at the Troubadour this last Monday), and the world will be enjoying the new songs from Tame Impala, Jukebox the Ghost and Tom Walker. We’ve also got the latest from Underoath, Tempoh Slow, Sad Daddy and Bon Iver.

Some of the new artists we’ll be spinning for the first time this week are the Shout Out Louds, Laura Elliott, In the Pines, Piel, Cole Rolland, Babe Rainbow, Broken Field Runner, Damien Styles and Janet Devlin.

Follow our New Music Friday Playlist and start listening to all these artists and more!
