All right – the new releases are starting! Today we are getting a new rock album from the mod king Elvis Costello, more folk rock from The Lumineers, twisty indie rock from The Wombats, and a covers album from the idyllic Cat Power. Not a bad haul with just that, but we also get the unexpectedly awesome new EP collaboration between Australian indie band Lime Cordiale and actor/DJ/rapper Idris Elba.
In songs, Muse are making a hard rocking return with their latest. Franker Turner, Kevin Devine and Gregor Barnett all have new singles for those of us who love punk-influenced acoustic music, and 2021 break-out star Tai Verdes has his newest drop.
Avril Lavigne continues her pop-punk return with a new single featuring the highly in-demand blackbear, and UK rockers Superlove show their softer side on their latest one. Jack White unleashes another rocker, Richard Ashcroft has teamed with Liam Gallagher, and Bastille are continuing their onslaught of singles leading up to their next album. Matisyahu has another track with Salt Cathedral, and we’re also getting fresh songs from Spoon, Mitski, Skizzy Mars, Midlake, Anxious, ME Rex and Lucius!
We’re also giving spins to fresh artists Joshy Soul, Kevin Preston, Olive Vox, Bella Rios, Sydney Agudong (aka Jayne Doe), Pacific Estate, Jamie McDell and Public Body.
