Banger of the Week: Morning Fuzz – Don’t Wait Up

From the moment the guitars and drums kick in on “Don’t Wait Up”, the first single from Long Island, NY band Morning Fuzz‘s upcoming sophomore album Wherever We Go, the desire to air drum/guitar along is immediate. You just know you’re in for some good rock n’ roll.

It’s the kind of rock song that you can start your day with – hard, but not brash or noisy for noise’s sake. There’s a bit of familiarity in the Nirvana-inspired bass line, but the vocals are far more Foo Fighters in their melodic passion. The track also has an effortless lyrical cool to it, with lines like “You get buried if you dig too deep. I tune out because all the talk is cheap” delivered with a 90’s slacker rock snark that balances well with the fist-pumping chorus.

Simply put, the track’s a banger, so it’s a welcome addition to our Bangers of the Week Playlist. Listen on Spotify or Apple Music!
