So you may be noticing that this New Music Friday is being published on a Monday. Welp, I was out of the country on a much needed vacation last week, and these NMF posts are just too hard to put together solely on my phone. Also I deserve a break once in a while, right?
But I couldn’t not give some attention to the great new music out this week. Like albums from three incredible J-named artists; Jamie T, Jack White and John Moreland. For Jamie T, it’s the indie punk songwriter’s first album in a number of years. For Jack White, it’s his second album this year. And for those of you not familiar with John Moreland, his beautiful blend of Americana and folk will warm to your ears. There’s also a new EP from indie emo veteran Onelinedrawing!
While their new album is out soon on the 29th, Unwritten Law are giving us one more teaser of new music before its release. Canadian troubadour Dan Mangan is back with more of his thoughtful brand of folk rock, and Billie Eilish, Bedouin Soundclash and Local Natives are all gracing us with two new tracks.
Due to the vacation, there was less time to review new potential acts for this week’s list, but still found a few worthy ones: Career Woman and Jessie Kilgus are both getting their first plays on the list this week.
As per usual, get to streaming all of these and many more in our NMF Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
