Formed thirty years ago, Fortress Under Siege have been creating heavy yet melodic progressive power metal that has made them one of the most impactful groups of their kind to ever come out of Greece.
Despite line-up changes (including getting a new singer for most recent album Atlantis, the group has soldiered on and made more dynamic and thrilling metallic anthems. Songs like “My Foulest Sin” are rousing with their orchestral accompaniment and almost operatic vocals, while paired with machine gun drumming and crunchy riffs. “Don’t Let Go” is an epic head-banger that moves between an Ozzy-like sneer and sprawling chorus.
One of their most recent singles, “Love Enforcer”, is a blast of speed-metal guitars, thunderous drumming and soaring vocals. It’s the kind of track you want blasting as you speed down a highway at 100mph.
