New Music Friday: October 7, 2022

Welcome to Spooky Season! While many of you will be blasting the “Monster Mash” and Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, there’s also some great new music you should be jamming to, and we have it here for you.

Surf Curse – Magic Hour

Broken Bells (the teaming of The Shins‘ James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse) are back with the group’s latest album of cosmic indie rock. Surf Curse have dropped their major label debut, while Willow Smith has her latest pop punk effort since her recent conversion into an alternative icon. And 90’s grunge rock stars Bush are back with their latest collection of heavy anthems. We’ve also put in the latest EP from the unique Chico Romano.

After two darker albums, Lucero are putting out some fun rock n’ roll with a new single and album on the way next year. If you want to keep things in that upbeat arena, the new Deer Tick or Steel Panther may also be for you. For some heavier punk/alternative, the new singles from Magnolia Park, Anti-Flag and De’Wayne will fit the bill. And if you need something mellower, new tunes from Dan Mangan and Beatenberg should do the trick. Big names like Hozier, All Time Low and Maneskin are all back with surprise new singles today.

We’ve got returns from San Roman, New Junk City, Megan Slankard, Sharon Van Etten, Easy Life, Joker’s Hand and Dessa. New artists added to the list this week include Tedious & Brief, Seth Adams, Eddy Lee Ryder, The Drive, Transit Lantics, The Subways and Boss’ Daughter.

Start listening to all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
