For our last Banger of 2022, it felt like we needed to go big or go home. Thankfully, American prog-metal project Pyramid‘s single “Empty Roads” is huge.
The American band formed around bass player Lance Sawyer features a who’s who from the metal community: Tim Ripper Owens (ex-Judas Priest, ex-Iced Earth, among others), Andry Lagiou (The Harps), Harry Conklin “The Tyrant” (Jag Panzer) on vocals, Mike Abdow (Fates Warning) on guitars and Chris Quirarte (Redemption) on drums, Adam Bentley (Arch Echo)guitars and mixing engineer ,Joey Izzo (Arch Echo) the master on the keyboards and Perrine Missemer on the amazing violin.
Clocking in at nearly nine minutes, “Empty Roads” is a huge song in length and scope. The second track on their 5th album “Rage” Revisited, the song takes off with Lagiou’s powerhouse vocals, and keeps on singing as the seditious guitar solo slithers in and curls itself around the track. The violin and drums gives the song a cinematic scope, backing the heavy riffs that take the listener along on the musical journey the song takes you on.
Bast in this track’s righteous glow in our Bangers of the Week playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
