New Music Friday: February 10, 2023

It’s the weekend before Valentine’s Day, and my heart is a flutter cause we finally get the new album from Paramore. Based on the singles, the band has ventured into bold new directions on this one, so will be exciting to hear it. One album we have heard and love is the latest from Frances Luke Accord (read our review here). American Authors are dropping their happy new album, and after his excellent album last year, Matt Nathanson is back with a new EP for us in 2023. We also have four more songs from M83, making a full EP for the electronic/alternative artist.

Anyone who has followed our site a while should know I am a Samiam Stan, so was thrilled that the band released a new single and announced the release date for their new album this week. We’ve also got a new love song from Bad Ass Break-Outs artist Bite Me Bambi, and another ska delight from The Abruptors. The great Peter Gabriel has dropped the second single from his new album, and we have a long lost track from Linkin Park (appropriately called “Lost”).

80’s legends Depeche Mode are back with their first new single and a new album announcement, and we have more nu-school pop-punk from Magnolia Park and Taylor Acorn. There are some more beautiful songs from Northcote and The War & Treaty, and a beatific track from Beck. More returning champions include After Elmer, After Squall, Indigo De Souza, Lucias Malcolm, Bartees Strange, Algiers, Paige Su and Flogging Molly.

Some of the handpicked tracks from new artists to the list this week include songs by Jeff Draco, Phil Firetog Trio, Payson Lewis, Japan, Man, Eighty Ninety, C.C. Voltage, Captain Kaiser, bdrmm, Dead Lakes, Waters of March, Shy Martin, Cinder Well, The Bayonets, Amber Run, Brewster, Kid Moxie and Chessa Rich.

Hear all of these tracks and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
