Banger of the Week: Goose Vargis – Boots on the Ground

Though the golden era of grunge is long past, its influential tendrils still thrive in Seattle. Listening to the single “Boots on the Ground” from the Washington natives Goose Vargis confirms this.

Right off the bad, the stomping rhythm and head-bobbing bass lines recall the likes of Nirvana (though being a duo, Local H comparisons are also adept). The Delissio brothers keep the rocking simple, aside from a striking guitar solo, while the lyrics are a righteous call-to-arms: “Get your boots on the ground. It’s time to throw down!”

The track will make you want to shout-along and throw a fist in the air. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets synced with some future military action film. Another hard-hitting banger for the playlist.

Check it out in said playlist, Bangers of the Week.
