May Music Madness continues! Last week brought the return of Social Distortion, among many other prominent groups. This week, we finally get a new album from The All-American Rejects, which I have been greatly looking forward to. Oscar-winning Americana artist Ryan Bingham has his latest LP out today. We also have the latest solo album from Wolf Parade‘s Spencer Krug, and a new one from indie folk rocker Kevin Morby. The King Blues are back with a surprise new EP, and if you want some real dirty rock n’ roll, listen to the new EPs from Hot Juice and Crime Film.
Another huge favorite of mine, Brian Fallon (The Gaslight Anthem), dropped the first two tracks from his next album this week. Modest Mouse dropped the third song from their next album, and ska gods Less Than Jake shared the single from their upcoming split EP. Hard rockers Breaking Benjamin are finally back with new music, and The Strokes are keeping up with their new auto-tune loving sound on their second single.
Songwriter Sondre Lerche announced his latest album this week and shared the innocent first single. Peter Frampton is joined by Sheryl Crow (who just killed it at Beachlife) for his latest single. The Mountain Goats are back with a Charlie Sheen-inspired song, while MGK has re-teamed with Wiz Khalifa for a summery new pop-rap track. And speaking of summer, there’s a new Sublime track that will likely fit the vibe of the season.
You’ll also hear familiar artists like Alex Amor, Orquestra Pacifico Tropical, Spacey Jane, Russell Jamie Johnson, Shakey Graves, Emperor X, The Sleights, Julez and the Rollerz, Pickle Juice, Elle Belle, Stephen Day, Fink, Sincere Engineer, Brother Bird, Trashcan Sinatras, Fruit Bats, SeeTrees, Las Robertas, Seahaven, Octavian Winters, Common People, Post Sex Nachos, Snarls, Syd Sidney, Criteria, Sparkle Blood, New Constellations, Trabants, The Doomstompers, Switchfoot, Shaggy, The Maine, Rebelution, Piebald, Matt Hansen and Ken Pomeroy on the playlist this week.
