Brothers Luke and Mark Finn formed their band (aptly named Finn) back in 2008. The Melbourne, Australia-based group have released ten albums to date, blending melodic rock, folk, Americana and blues. The smooth, harmony-filled melodies and warm, breezy vibes the band’s songwriting evokes sound like lost 70’s AM radio tracks. Take their latest single, “Control” for example.
The track rolls along with waves of comforting vocals and upbeat folk arrangements. Finger-picked banjo and ethereal strings add texture and depth, while a backing chorus of “sha na na na’s” add a dose of 60’s pop bound to make any listener smile. Like a lost love child of America and The Beach Boys, Finn‘s “Control” is a great introduction to new fans looking for songs to spin this summer.
