Check This: Graztopia – Mary

Artist: Graztopia

Song: “Mary”

Album: Martha Spicer’s After Hours Diner (10/9/26)

Genre: Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Indie

Some people can barely handle playing one instrument. Graztopia on the other hand, is a one-man band; singing, playing guitar, and doing live looping to create immersive soundscapes for his unique blend of indie, rock, folk, psychedelic and jam band styles. The artist is also very prolific, having released an album last year, one earlier this year, and with another due this October. The second single from that upcoming album which I’m excited to share with you today is “Mary.”

The moseying, folk shuffle of the song will certainly make listeners think of the Grateful Dead. There’s an easy, rolling rhythm, with light piano touches and catchy pop hooks that sound like they’re from a bygone era. What plants the song firmly in the now is Graztopia‘s lyrics. Taking inspiration from a real life friend, the song follows a woman (Mary) deciding to leave social media, despite numbers of disingenuous pleas from men to stay. Definitely not a subject Jerry Garcia ever covered.

Take a listen to “Mary” in our Check This 2026 Playlist.
