What’s missing?
The 2010 feel both so long ago and so close. It was the final years of the mp3 player, and the rise of streaming services. It was the pre-Covid era. And there are plenty of great bands and artists who released music in that decade who didn’t get the attention they deserve.
Some of these artists were critical darlings like Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin or Fake Problems. Others were beloved by their peers like Fences and Sage Francis. There were members of better-known groups going solo like Gruff Rhys, or major label hopefuls that didn’t have the success that was expected like Paper Tongues.
