New Music Friday: September 11, 2026

It’s starting to feel like Fall, and I hope you fall for some of these new albums out today. First is the second LP from rising indie/Americana star This is Lorelei, who was great at Just Like Heaven Fest this year. Next, The Gaslight Anthem‘s Brian Fallon (read our review of it here) returns to rock on his latest solo LP. Pokey LaFarge continues to prove himself a true American original on his latest album (read our review of it here), while Britpop band The Tubs will certainly seduce you with their sugary sweet songs. And you can get your power-pop fix satisfied from the new EP by Radio Karma.

Emo stalwarts Saves the Day are back and sounding heavier than ever on their brand new single! Indie alt-rocker Mondo Cozmo is back this week with a new single, as are Britrockers Sports Team. We have a sweet new one from Kings of Leon, and a slab of fresh country rock from Treaty Oak Revival (featuring Wade Forster). There’s some lovely new power-pop from Teenage Fanclub, and some righteous rock from The War on Drugs.

Hard-rockers Motley Crue are back with a previously unreleased track from their glory days, and Cage the Elephant sound like they’re still in their glory days on their latest jam. As part of a celebration of label Dualtone’s 25th anniversary, we have a previously unreleased track from The Lumineers, and the All-American Rejects are giving us their spirited take on a Johnny Cash classic. Bleachers dropped a song from the Practical Magic 2 soundtrack, and Militarie Gun have reunited with Dazy for a new jam from the extended edition of their latest album.

Also returning to the list this week are Bloc Party, Whisper Doll, Best Ex, Nothing but Thieves, Mynd Reader, The Bobby Lees, Wishy, Daisy Harris, MF Tomlinson, Sadurn, Delivery Boys, Starpainter, Aly Navarro, Gollylagging, Margo Cilker, New Junk City, Bizou, DIV3R, Prima Donna, Eddie 9V, Craig Benedict Valentine Badynee, Bodega, Spiritbox, Death of Guitar Pop, Lucy Dacus, AlexSucks, In Color and The Strumbellas.

And some of the new names you’ll discover here this week include Damon Brock, telekura, Sydney Seaford, SJ Mortimer, Sylvie, Selfish Things, Emma Ogier, Jess Kerber, BALTHVS, The Cadets, Nick Carver, Tickets to Space, Leap, Cordelia Gartside, Humane, Caitlin Starr, popfree, Lydia Saint George, Little Steed, The Speedways, X-Rated Cowboys and Julia Wolf.

Check out all of these new tunes in our New Music Friday Playlist.
