It’s Halloween weekend, and we’ve got the perfect soundtrack for your weekend right here. Queens of the Stone Age continue to evolve with their latest album, while not losing what makes them one of the best hard rock bands around. Editors always pack in the emotion with their haunting melodic post-punk. Alt-rapper K-OS has returned with a new LP that will get your head bobbing, and for those of you wanting something more ‘fall” than Halloween, the Americana vibes of Jonah Kagen‘s latest album will be a great fit. There’s the debut album from melodic punks Massive Nightmares, and finally, we’re sharing the latest EP from local talent Emmalee Rainbow.
The Flaming Lips are beginning their next era, now on Third Man Records, with a jazzy new single. Mondo Cozmo has Jim James helping him on his latest track, and Ryan Gosling’s long-dormant Dead Man’s Bones has made a triumphant return just in time for spooky season. Another perfect bit of post-punk pop comes from CHVRCHES this week, dropping the second single from their next album. X Ambassadors are back in rock mode on their latest track, and emo kings Hawthorne Heights go hard on their anthemic single.
Bryan Adams is staying by Lake Ontario’s original name in his new protest song, while dynamic rock trio The Power of 3 have dropped a new song built around a previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix riff. Gigi Perez has a new track out from the new Hunger Games soundtrack, and we’ve got one more previously unreleased b-side from Cold War Kids.
