Tribute: Aretha Franklin

There’s very little any of us can say about Aretha Franklin that won’t be repeated in a million obituaries and tributes in the coming days. Her music was prevalent and part of our lives. Her cover of Otis Redding‘s “Respect” was the ultimate version of that track, and her own self-penned songs like “Think” has been a part of our culture’s soundtrack for generations.

I’ll certainly be diving deeper into her catalog over the next weeks to try to gain a true appreciation beyond her most well known hits. If you’re in the mood for remembering the Queen of Soul, you can listen to her music below:
