The Friday Prophets are a DIY-punk rock band from Sweden. Like some of their forebears who crossed over the Atlantic from Scandinavia to make an impact here, they have the ragged energy of The Hives and the melodic smarts of Millencolin.
Their latest release, the two-song single “The Futile Path of Least Resistance”, is an explosive nugget of mosh-pit worthy, helter-skelter punk rock. The gang chorus rises from the circle pit verses to rain down fist-pumping goodness.
Also check out one of their earlier singles, “Zest”, which has that young pop punk hookiness that helped lead Green Day towards their eventual stardom.
