New Music Friday – April 3, 2020

Nuevo-disco-de-M.-Ward-Migration-Stories-2020

These weeks in isolation are certainly not getting easier, and this week certainly hit the music community hard with the loss of Adam Schlesinger. In between binging on Fountains of Wayne over the weekend, below are the new releases I’ll be checking out.

The new release from pop-punkers All Time Low should be a catchy, energetic blast. All the pre-released songs have been solid, hook-filled wallops of goodness, so I have little doubt the remainder of the album will please listeners. Indie singer-songwriter M. Ward‘s latest should be a good one for spinning during the calm, relaxed isolated weekend, while the latest Phish album will be there if you want to jam. And I don’t dare to suspect what the new Born Ruffians EP sounds like before hearing it.

The enchanting Hayley Williams has released the next song from her secondĀ Petals for Armor album, and we also get new singles from soul duo The War and Treaty and rock/power pop impresario Brendan Benson, in anticipation of their upcoming albums. Irreverent punks NOFX have been dropping new singles and videos each week, so we get a new one from them today. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are also new songs from island country star Jimmy Buffet and soul goddess Mavis Staples. Classic alternative rock band Dramarama just released their first new single in over a decade, and Americana staples Old Crow Medicine Show have an inspiring new track out.

Some other noteworthy new songs are coming in from Orville Peck, American Aquarium, Local H, Marshmello and Billy Talent.

Check all these tunes and more out in our New Music Friday Playlist!
