It’s now May, and if you’re like us, you’re feeling like this quarantine has been going on so long you’ve stopped counting the days. One of the things that helps keep us grounded is New Music Friday, and getting to listen to all the latest from the artists we love. Here’s what’s hitting our playlist this week.

First is the great new album from American Aquarium (read our review of it here). This band keeps getting better, and is perfect for fans of country, southern rock, Americana or simply great songwriting and storytelling. Next up is the latest release from indie/emo/rock group Car Seat Headrest, who have become a hugely buzzed about group the last few years. There’s a new one from Washington-based songwriter Damien Jurado, and the first new album in a very long time from 90’s alternative band Dramarama.

Our song list today has a mix of big artists, rising stars, and new acts we think are worth you knowing about. Of the known artists, we get some great new tracks from Haim, Phantom Planet, Dixie Chicks, Machine Gun Kelly, Lukas Graham, Billy Bragg and a recently surfaced old demo from Oasis. Of the rising stars, you can enjoy new ones from The Regrettes, Peach Tree Rascals, Mt. Joy, The Hu and Big Thief.

Then there are the new artists you should start getting to know, including Remo Drive, Alluvial Fans, Bruno Major and Chaz Cardigan.

Listen to all of these artists plus many more in this week’s New Music Friday Playlist!
