New Music Friday: August 7, 2020

Glass-Animals-Dreamland-album

And so we enter August. Though all very different, the three new albums we’ll be streaming over the next week feel fitting for the last month of Summer. First, we have the alternative synth pop of Glass Animals for some chill vibes. To warm up, there’s the new album from folk rock group Market Junction (find our review of their excellent new album here). And because some high quality rap/hip hop is always good during this season, we’ll be checking out the new collaborative album between Atmosphere and Murs, Felt 4 U.

We’re always happy when there are new songs out from blink-182 and Cold War Kids, which definitely make this Friday better than most. Some of the other high profile new tracks coming in today; Bon Iver‘s latest features background vocals from Jenny Lewis and Bruce Springsteen; Joji has a new collaboration with producer extraordinaire Diplo; Machine Gun Kelly has two new tracks dropping with assists from Travis Barker and Blackbear; Malian rockers Songhoy Blues have the latest from their upcoming album; Australian indie rocker Courtney Barnett is back with a new; and after one listen we’re already enjoying the soulful new track from Matt Costa.

Speaking of soul, Bettye Lavette has new track out that’s sure to hit home. We also want to give a shout to two new tracks from the upcoming fundraiser album The House that Bradley Built, featuring Sublime covers and other rare tracks from a diverse group of artists to raise money for the Nowell Family Foundation. This week brings us tracks from The Movement and Vana Liya.

Check all these out and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
