New Music Friday – September 25, 2020

It’s a massive music Friday today, with a huge drop of albums we’ve been anticipating here, and some we didn’t know we were needing!

First, we have Machine Gun Kelly‘s first full-length foray into pop-punk, Tickets to My Downfall. If you’re needing some politically-charged music to deal with the current state of the world, the new albums from Bob Mould, Public Enemy, The Casting Out and Idles should fire you up. If you need something to ease you down from that charge, the latest albums from Sufjan Stevens, The War and Treaty, Trevor Hall and the surprise new one from Fleet Foxes will help calm you down.

In songs, we have a second new one from Bruce Springsteen‘s next album, a new track from Seattle power-pop veterans The Posies, a ska-tastic new one from recent Bad Ass Break-Outs Bite Me Bambi, more excellent songwriting showmanship from Northcote, and solid blue collar punk from Red City Radio. We’ll also be enjoying new ones from past Bad Ass Break-Outs Thoughts, trying out recent Epitaph-signee Indii G, and a very relatable new track from Bastille.

Also don’t sleep on the new ones from The Shins, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Tune-Yards, and the return of Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party!

Listen to all of these and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
