Artist: Lost In Japan
Song: “Troy”
Genre: Indie Pop, Alternative
Canada’s Lost in Japan released their full-length debut album back in 2018, and came back earlier this year with new single “Ego”. Following it’s success, the band has just released next single “Troy” as a preview for their upcoming sophomore EP.
Taking inspiration from The Illiad, “Troy” is an upbeat, indie pop ear worm about “understanding the importance of every moment – good or bad”. Produced by Juno-award winner Dan Brodbeck, the track opens with a punchy drum beat, and is then joined in by some jangly new wave guitars and background harmonies. The lyrics, sang with a swooning whimsy, are filled with romantic allusions; “we’re running with the wolves now, but you’re still as beautiful as you’ve ever been”.
