New Music Friday – December 11, 2020

The year’s almost over, and while holiday music is washing over the New Music Friday world, we still have some non-holiday releases to shine a light on. First, rapper KiD CuDi has a new one of his eclectically-flavored hip hop style. Ska veterans Less Than Jake are dropping their exuberant new one (see our review of the album here), and The Avalanches have a new, rock-leaning new album featuring a large number of famous guests. We’ve also been graced with a posthumous Chris Cornell covers album.

Oh, and as if she hasn’t conquered 2020 enough, Taylor Swift has released the sister album to her previous chart-topper Folklore. Just send all the streaming revenue her way, will you? Maybe save a bit for K. Flay‘s covers EP.

Since we aren’t complete grinches, we’ll be trying out Twenty One Pilots‘ new holiday song. Gwen Stefani is back with her first solo single in ages, and thankfully it’s a return to her reggae/ska roots, and not a country song. Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins has a new project called the Nighttime Boogie Association with two new singles out, and cause Mark Ronson can do no harm, we’ll be spinning his new collab with Kacey Musgrave and Troye Sivan. There’s also new tracks from Poorstacy, Iration, Anthony Hamilton, Cleopatrick, Bakar, Shaed and plenty more.

Hear all of these in our New Music Friday Playlist!
