After the huge dump of new music last week, it’s a minor relief that this first New Music Friday of April is a little lighter, allowing us all more time to digest all the tunes from last week, and spend a good amount of time with the new music out today.
To go along with the big film featuring its even bigger stars, we’re going to spin the score to Godzilla Vs Kong by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL). Some of our favorite Brits The Fratellis have their new full length out too, featuring one of my favorite songs from last year. If you’re a fan of acts like Fall Out Boy, you should also enjoy the new EP from Wild Truth (I sure did) and the new EP from pinkshift.
In new singles, we first have one from 90’s alternative stars Garbage that should excite their passionate fans. Americana act Jade Jackson and indie heroes Dinosaur Jr both dropped new songs this week, and Lilith Czar (formerly Juliet Simms) has a snazzy new pop rock jam out. Garage punker Wavves is back with his first new song since 2017, and we have another new one from pop punkers Charming Liars.
St. Vincent has dropped the second single from her next album, and we’ve got another new one from The Silk War. The great soul singer Robert Finley has the second single from his next album out, as do punk stalwarts The Offspring. All these, plus new tunes from Band of Silver, Jack DeNicola, Dropkick Murphys, Fences and more!
