New Music Friday – April 23, 2021

Happy Friday folks. It’s been a helluva week, so I’m sure we’re all ready to relax this weekend with some new tunes.

It’ll be a good one for indie music fans, as there’s a new album out from underground rock legends Dinosaur Jr. For some more unique sounds, you can enjoy the debut LP from previous Check This artists Sound Photographers, and pop rock songstress Lilith Czar. And if you like Lilith, you may also dig the new EP from CANNxN. Citizen Cope has a new acoustic-based album out to chill out to, and cause we appreciate the classic artists, we’ll be listening into Sir Tom Jones‘ latest album, a collection of covers (and one original).

Some big acts in the alternative world have dropped new songs this week; Scottish synth-poppers CHVRCHES, the ever-eccentric Weezer, folk rockers The Mountain Goats, 90’s rockers Eve 6, and alt hip-hop collective Flobots.

You should all be familiar with Ashe by now, but if not, listen to her new single to get familiar. The same goes for folk-soul artist Yola, and songwriter Hiss Golden Messenger. On the punk side of things, Hot Mulligan dropped the first song from their upcoming EP, The Bronx have the second single from their new album out, Devon Kay and the Solutions have the next song in their singles series out, and Less Than Jake‘s Chris DeMakes released a new solo single.

Some new artists we’re featuring today are TJ3X, Iceage, The Silk War, The Spins, The Trusted, Total Brutal and LilHuddy.

Dive into all these new tunes and more in our New Music Friday Playlist!
