New Music Friday – Dec 24, 2021 – January 7, 2022

Welcome to 2022! We’re excited to be back and bringing you all the latest releases of the new year. As can be expected, the first week back is generally a slow one for new drops, but as our Most Anticipated Albums List can attest, there are many exciting new albums coming this year. For now, here is how we’ll be starting our 2022.

Since we’re lighter on new albums, we’re going to include a couple albums that came out during the break that are worth you hearing. First is the latest from Nas (his second album of 2021), who is always on form. Next, Lifehouse‘s Jason Wade found time to write a great new album even while Lifehouse itself was writing and releasing new songs last year. There is also one brand new release today from Australia’s Dope Lemon which should bring the Aussie summer to our cold January. In EPS, recent Check This artist Violet Lewis has her new one out today.

As they promised, Eve 6 have dropped another new song on the 5th. We’ve also got new singles from Gang of Youths and Billy Talent (both of whom were on our Anticipated Albums list), as well as Alt-J and former Yellowcard-frontman William Ryan Key. Critical darling Father John Misty is also back with his first new song from his next album.

Soul artist Swamp Dogg is back with a salty new track, and Elvis Costello has another new one before his new album drops. From the UK, we have new songs from Rat Boy and Superlove, and from Italy, a new one from Ludovico Einaudi. We’re also going a bit country this week with new ones from Maren Morris and recent Bad Ass Break-Out Morgan Wade.

We’ve got other returning artists like Manuel the Band, William Russell Wallace and Young Guv gracing this week’s list, and we’ll also be giving first spins to new artists like No Signal, Blair West, Jesse Correll, A Wilhelm Scream, Let’s Eat Grandma and The Smile.

Hear them all plus many more tracks in our New Music Friday Playlist!
